About Amanda Wakeley:

Amanda discovered her passion for fashion early on. Educated at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, followed by a stint as a fashion model in New York in the 1980’s, she launched her signature line in 1990 and opened a small studio boutique in the heart of Chelsea, London. Amanda Wakeley soon became a favourite of UK’s most stylish women, including the fashion icon of the time, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Since 2009, Amanda has built her brand and business with the lifestyle approach she had always envisioned. To fuel the brand’s expansion, financial backing of AGC equity partners – a private equity firm based in London, came on board.

Amanda Wakeley has developed a strong and rapidly growing presence within the luxury lifestyle arena. The collection ranges from chic day-dresses, impeccable tailoring, luxury sportswear, knitwear and a well-edited, expanding line of accessories including fine jewellery and Italian crafted handbags. The Wakeley brand continues to build on its strong evening and cocktail wear foundation and expands its established bridal collection: Amanda Wakeley Bridal.

Amanda’s understated cool, glam and chic evening creations are often seen at the world’s leading red carpet events. The Wakeley brand has fans around the globe including Beyonce, Florence Welch, Oscar-winning Helen Mirren and Angelina Jolie.

Amanda Wakeley has also had the honour to dress many members of royal families: Queen Rania of Jordan and most recently The Duchess of Cambridge.

Amanda was awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry in 2010. She is also the winner of numerous awards, including three British Fashion Awards. Since 1996, Amanda has co-chaired the committee for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer appeal leading the efforts to raise substantial funds to support the charity.
